Why Be an Assessor

Notwithstanding the strength of the NDAP system, the success of the accreditation scheme depends on the assessment team, who performs on-site assessment and, thus, plays a pivotal role in determining the quality, no biasedness, credibility and validity of the accreditation process. Quality assessment is a verification tool that enables the assessor to identify the strengths and Weaknesses (existing and potential) and avenues for improvement in the Clinic under assessment.

Who Can Be an Assessor

A dental practitioner is eligible to be an assessor with the NDAP. As the assessor is vested with the authority to monitor the assessment on his own or with a team, the team, his or her role becomes most important. An effective Assessor is an admirable blend of firmness and sympathy, cohesion and reserve, a task master and vicarious servant. He or she effectively manages the human resource entrusted to his or her care to make assessment reliable and objective.

Prequisites For an Assessor

Good assessor skills will influence good skills in the OHCP Doctor and who will influence his/her staff. By this module we are not developing individuals but an entire chain. This means that apart from health care delivery, the Assessor needs to have certain skills, attitudes and aptitudes to be developed—to spot deviation from norms, ethical issues, and behavior trends, to guide towards better practices and imbibe enthusiasm to achieve the same.
